Arts Award is a national qualification that supports children and young people to grow as artists and arts leaders.
Swindon Museum and Art Gallery is pleased to be an Arts Award Supporter. We offer activities that young people can use towards their Arts Award as well as provide an offer to professionals teaching Arts Awards.
Our offer to Young People
We offer a changing programme of contemporary art and history exhibitions to support all aspects of your Arts Award journey. You will be able to respond to our exhibitions, write reviews and document what you have seen and how it made you feel and think; take photos; record discussions and conversations in and around the gallery and make sketches/drawings of what you see. We have a selection of talks to accompany exhibitions which, if attended, can help you achieve your arts award at any level. Visit our events page for more information on these talks.
Our offer to Professionals
We can help and support your young people undertake the Arts Award. The Gallery is a great introduction to visiting a cultural venue. We offer a changing programme of contemporary art and history exhibitions. Your young people will be able to respond to our exhibitions, write a review or document what they have seen. Sometimes exhibiting artists give talks about their work and we often have special events linked to our exhibitions. Find out more here.
We can also arrange tailored talks on specific artists or themes.
We recommend you plan your group visits for a Monday. We are closed to the public on Mondays so you will have the venue to yourselves. Please contact us for more information and prices.
