Come and join us on Saturday 14th October for a day of ‘Celebration’! As part of a weekend of free arts and culture activities across Swindon involving venues including Richard Jefferies Museum, Central Library and the Railway Cottage, Swindon Museum and Art Gallery is running a number of FREE, fabulous and creative drop-in workshops and we’d love to see you!
Join Create Studios for a family friendly drop-in stop frame animation workshop where you can use your imagination and creativity to bring to life plasticine characters inspired by the collections at the Swindon Museum and Art Gallery. Create’s team of industry professionals will provide you with the skills needed to make your own short film using the same industry standard cameras and software used to create family favourites such as Wallace and Gromit and Shaun The Sheep!
Celebrate… Different Cultures!
Different cultures celebrate in different ways. Come and try your hand at Wycinanki (folk art from Poland), Rangoli (Indian art) and other lovely activities.
Are you ready to take part in the Big Draw, the world’s biggest drawing festival?! Join the Young Archaeologists Club to celebrate Archaeology in this fantastic workshop. Get inspired by the Museum galleries and get creative: draw, cut, stick, collage, mosaic, colour-in… we will have a mountain of ready-made archaeology images to use. Note: This session runs from 1pm – 3pm.
More info to follow on the above workshops but do put this date in your diary!
