Project coordinators Becca and Emma are the organisers of ‘Small Victories’, an innovative research and storytelling project in partnership with Swindon Museum and Art Gallery, that seeks to uncover and retell stories of everyday women doing exceptional things in the engineering history of Swindon.
Over two days at the museum, during October half term, Small Victories are running a series of workshop sessions for young people to explore an archive of historic news stories, photos and letters relating to Swindon, industry and home life.
Working with storyteller Wilf, you will construct stories from what you’ve found, create characters and design props that will become a puppet show at the museum in February half term. Taking part in the workshop will give you and one adult free entry to the show in February 2018.
This two-day workshop is open to children aged 11-16 and is FREE. Space is limited so please book your place! Sessions run from 10am – 12noon and 2pm – 4pm on each day. Please wear comfy clothes. You can take part in all 4 workshops or just one.
Swindon Museum and Art Gallery is spread over several floors with no lift facilities. If you are disabled or have any access needs please email firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can help.
