The museum and art gallery is supported by a team of hard-working and enthusiastic volunteers who help with collections, exhibitions, events and activities and work on our Reception desk. We pride ourselves on being a welcoming and supportive place to volunteer, and we value the contribution our volunteers make.
Our volunteer opportunities are supported by a ILM qualified volunteer manager. There are lots of personal benefits to volunteering at the museum including: being part of a welcoming and supportive team, gaining new skills, helping the museum improve, finding out more about Swindon’s history, improving your CV and building your self-esteem
All volunteer vacancies are advertised at the Do-It website where you can find out much more about the opportunities and how to apply.
The museum provides a limited number of placements and work experience opportunities each year which aim to give a short-term, in-depth experience of museum activity.
The museum has a lack of office space which limits the number of volunteers we can have at any one time.
If you would like an informal discussion about volunteering, work experience or placements, please contact us at email@example.com
