Swindon Museum & Art Gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10.00am to 5.00pm. We are open for school and group visits on Mondays, by appointment only. We are closed on Bank Holidays.
There is a small range of souvenir gift items and local art to buy next to the reception desk at the top of the stairs. These include pocket money items that will help you commemorate your visit, and a selection of books. We can now accept card payments (minimum spend £5).
There is no parking available at the Museum & Art Gallery but there are car parks within a short walking distance of the venue. Please click on the links to access information on Britannia and Prospect Place car parks.
Swindon Museum & Art Gallery is located in the Old Town area of Swindon which is also accessible via public transport.

The Swindon Museum and Art Gallery is spread over several floors with no lift facilities. Please contact Museum staff on 01793 466556 if you have any specific needs and we will do our best to help. If there is a certain item you would like to see in the collection please contact us in advance and we will do our best to make this item accessible to you.
Our two Temporary Exhibition Galleries are situated on the ground floor and are accessible, we have a series of three engaging and beautifully presented exhibitions a year in these rooms.
We now have portable seating available in the Art Gallery, should visitors need seating while viewing exhibitions.
Please note that with the exception of assistance dogs, no dogs are permitted in the Museum and Art Gallery.
